Rick Minard is an artist who currently resides in Shinglehouse, Pennsylvania with his wife and young son. He earned an Associates Degree from the Art Institute of Pittsburgh in 1988 and a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Clarion University in 1997. In May of 2010, he earned a Master of Fine Arts Degree from the Rochester Institute of Technology.
He maintains a private painting studio in Shinglehouse. He has entered numerous juried shows and has won awards such as Best of Show and People’s Choice. He spends his time painting in the abstract both nonrepresentational and figurative. Known for his unique woven paintings, a process he developed while at Clarion University, he also layers paintings with digital inkjet prints.
